Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) | A Spectacular Sunset - Day 4

Cabo has beaches on the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. The Sea of Cortez side pictured here is a long continuous beach that heads north along the Sea of Cortez. The white sand is lovely to walk on, the sea is calm, and the water is quite warm, which makes it a great place to swim even this time of year.

I seldom book my stays in advance when traveling. One advantage is it affords me maximum flexibility to mold my trip as I see fit, whether it's a Hotel, Hostel, apartment, house, or room on Airbnb. The downside is I usually need to set time aside to make my reservations. This offers me another opportunity for rest and relaxation. When was the last time you traveled and made time to simply BE? I try to avoid cramming my schedule full. Traveling slowly affords me this opportunity and is the reason why I am not worn out from traveling. For me, today is one of those days, a day to simply enjoy what the day brings.

It was a 3-mile roundtrip to the Bus Station to check the schedules and buy my ticket to La Paz. During my walk, it was great to see the less touristy parts of Cabo. I then focused my time on booking my next accommodations. With everything secured, it was time to spend the afternoon on the beach and BE.

Along the way I spotted this Yellow-capped Night Heron just below the dock.

After sitting and enjoying the cool air and the sound of the ocean for several hours, I was rewarded with a beautiful sunset. This is the first since I arrived in Cabo. The sky was overcast most of the day, so I was surprised to see these beautiful colors. Nevertheless, it was awesome to experience it.

The clouds were long and linear and added to the beauty of the moment. This picture reminds me of a postcard.

If I am not eating tacos, always with corn and not flour tortillas, I am likely to eat enchiladas.  These rolled-up corn tortillas are stuffed with chicken and covered with a green "Verde" sauce. It was quite delicious.

Another treat, that I was looking forward to, was the Mexican drink Horchata. Horchata is a sweet rice milk drink seasoned with cinnamon. It is not alcoholic and quite refreshing. Las Guacamayes restaurant is famous for their Horchata. It did not disappoint.
